Here at First Discoveries the sweetest Children Stay
And peels of laughter shake it's roof from tiny hearts at play
Oh what a time of life this is when every thing is magic
That we must ever leave this age is nothing less than tragic
First Discoveries is a home based preschool program. We use different areas of the house for different things. Our main playroom is in the basement, where we spend most of our time. We have a library with over 1,000 children's books on the 2nd floor of the house with an attached little gym with a tunnel, climber, slide and merry-go-round so we can run off some energy on those very cold Minnesota days. We have a large yard with huge tree's and a large flower garden. This spring we will be working on a vegetable garden!
This is a view of the main playroom kitchen, doll, store, and dress up area. We have mostly hand-made natural toys in our classroom. I look for toys that inspire imagination! The alphabet cards along the wall show pictures of flowers and plants that have names that start with each letter of the alphabet. The children love to look at the cards and think about our outdoor garden.
This is our classroom table. We work on crafts, play with small manipulatives and puzzle here and eat our snack here. The room is NOT this dark, it just doesn't show up well on pictures for some reason!
